Art org to put on dark ball

TICKETS are now on sale to the Broken Hill Art Exchange’s inaugural ball, The Dark Moon Festival Ball.

Art Exchange president Susanne Jones said the ball is a fundraiser for the group to host artist residencies, and also to employ somebody to run the organisation, which is currently entirely volunteer-led.

The Tipsy Camel on Buck Street will host the event, on October 18, and bands The Black Shadows and True Vibenation will provide the entertainment.

“There’s also going to be an art auction,” Ms Jones said.

“So we’re currently looking for an auctioneer.”

The $95 ticket price covers dinner, though attendees will need to purchase their own drinks.

All are invited to attend the event, whether members of The Art Exchange or not.

Alongside the event, films made locally or about Broken Hill will be projected onto buildings throughout town for an immersive town-wide exhibition.

Business owners interested in having their windows used as part of the display are encouraged to contact the Art Exchange – info@brokenhillartexchange.org.au
